Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Labour will open more Tas’heel service centres, following the high-quality services provided to the majority of its customers, according to a resolution issued by Saqr Gobash, Minister of Labour, on Tuesday in the capital.
“All the successes achieved by Tas’heel service centres, in terms of providing high-quality services and creating job opportunities for national human resources, were behind the decision referred to. We look forward to expanding and increasing the number of Tas’heel service centres,” Gobash said.
The new decree has also listed new rules for granting licences to Tas’heel service centres.
The existing centres must adjust their current situation in accordance with the ministry’s decision by April 2015.
“A number of conditions should be met before obtaining the licence. The applicant should be over 21 years old, a qualified Emirati and all his partners in the company must be Emiratis as well,” Gobash announced.
The decree also states that the applicant must not be an owner or a partner of any violating facility and should not be a working staff at the Ministry of Labour or have first relatives, such as husband or wife, working there.
The Ministry of Labour had announced earlier that all staff working at the front desks of the Tas’heel service centres must be UAE citizens.
Therefore, the Minister of Labour has also announced that licences will be granted to applicants on specific conditions such as appointing not less than 50 per cent of UAE national cadres at the customer service desk and increasing the target up to 100 per cent within two years.
According to recent statistics released by the ministry, among the total of 732 citizens employed at the Tas’heel centres, 644 men and women are working at the customer support centres and the rest are performing administrative duties.
Long queues of people seeking labour ministry services were a thing of the past with the establishment of Tas’heel service centres.
According to recent surveys issued by the ministry, around 78 per cent of customers were satisfied with the services of the Tas’heel centres and the numbers are continuing to improve.
The ministry announced that UAE nationals working at Tas’heel service centres must receive a salary not less than Dh6,000 per month. New rules are in progress to increase the minimum wages for employees.
According to the ministry, the duration of the licence is two years and should be renewed regularly. The licence will be cancelled if the applicant submits wrong documents or data or does not comply with technical and operational specifications set by the Ministry of Labour. Failure to renew the centre’s licence within three months from the expiry date will result in its cancellation for a period of no more than one year.
Around 40 Tas’heel centres are available across the UAE to simplify all labour-related processes and improve efficiency.
